I’m eight months behind with this comment, but I’m just getting caught up on episodes that had “aired” (podded?) before I was aware of your podcast. I greatly enjoyed this creepy story — and the chants of “Just soak; just soak in Biotex” were even more terrifying!

Since you didn’t mention it, this story was an adaptation of “Sir Dominick’s Bargain” by Joseph Sheridan LeFanu, author of “Carmilla.” The framing sequence was also in the original story. It’s an extremely faithful adaptation, with a lot of the dialogue being almost word-for-word.

I’ve listened to a few Springbok shows – primarily the Avengers and Jet Jungle – and most of the commercials range from mildly irritating to excruciatingly annoying. The BioTex ad is no exception, but I think the Black Cat Peanut Butter ads are still the worst.
