I really enjoyed that. It had so many elements of vintage radio horror that that I love: the old thrumming tremolo organ with the rotating speaker- so atmospheric. The long time-killing solos where regional broadcasters inserted their own commercials explains to me why some were so long. The story got darker and darker as it went on which was awesome- it read like a Jim Thompson story. Being unable to break away from the fate they created for themselves. Running but getting nowhere. The return home and the dead husband's sardonic greeting and the twist at the end and the extra coffins is to me vintage radio horror gold. The whole feeling-tone of this was right up my dark alley. I hadn't heard this one before and will definitely explore the catalogue of remaining sealed book stories. Thanks too to you and your listener for turning me on to Robert Arthur- I'll be looking for his detective pulp stories after reading his three investigators stories as a youth. Joshua you really outdid yourself with this selection and your research here. Thank You.

Did any of you read The Three Investigators books when you were younger? I remember buying copies from the Scholastic Book Club, and I was able to pass my love of them on to my younger daughter.
