I hate this kind of ‘lateral thinking problem’. It feels like the author wants to show how clever they are by presenting an impossible puzzle, not giving the audience enough clues, and then presenting just an outlandish series of events that would never happen. Its not a mystery and I had no doubt he would succeed, but thanks to Tim for mentioning he does not actually escape!
