Thank you! That was exactly the series I was trying to remember. I think the story I was thinking of shared a few elements, but ultimately was not a "Colony" adaptation.

That's a solid observation and a pretty good motto: "Everything's scarier when you're naked."

Guys, this podcast brings me so much joy in my TV-less, wifi-less apartment. Thanks for the laughs and insight! (Btw, I ALSO thought this could totally have been a Star Trek episode!)

I think the Sci-Fi companion series to Twisted Tales that Tim was thinking of was probably Alien Worlds. Like Twisted Tales, it was originally published by Pacific Comics and then by Eclipse. I wasn't able to find anything on the Grand Comics Database listing an adaptation of "Colony," though it's possible that it was adapted without credit (or that they did a story that was just really similar).

I loved this episode, by the way. I wasn't tricked by the twist — I figured out what was up as soon as they said [SPOILER WARNING] that the ship landed three hours sooner than expected — but that made it even more suspenseful. And the nakedness made it scarier, in a psychological way. I think that most people (at least those who aren't exhibitionists) feel more vulnerable when they're naked. I find the idea of being attacked by a monster while naked more frightening than being attacked by a monster while fully clothed. (Not that this is something that I'd given much thought to, prior to hearing this episode.)
