I’ve been at home convalescing after a cardiac bypass last month, and started up listening to old time radio again. After a few installments of Lights Out & Quiet Please, I found myself wishing that someone somewhere was talking about these stories and putting them in context. And, well, here we are!

I’ve been going through the back catalog, but am just now starting to branch out beyond Cooper and Obeler. Listened to “Spawn of the Sub-Human” during my morning walk, and it was a delight!

I see that you guys are performing SotSH this weekend! Wish I could be there, but I’m in Champaign, Illinois and they won’t let me drive yet! I’m not 100% certain whether I’ll be free this Saturday evening; will there be an option to listen to the livestream not-live?

As for this week’s episode…well, it makes me appreciate the likes of Oboler all the more. There’s clearly more to the craft of radio horror than finding the proper sound effect of a spooky door!
