Thank you, Eric! I use to perform radio shows for a short period of time and The Voice on the Wire was one of my favorite parts to play. I grew up loving Gaslight and Midnight Lace so playing a person slowly unraveling was a dream. The fact that she isn’t truly a victim is even better. Add the outlandish plot, constant action, and terrible puns and it’s easily a guilty pleasure.

I’ll admit I’ve had my sleeping pills and I’ve only listened once (in fact I’m still listening to the discussion) so I may have misheard but couple things are niggling at me…
-The voice on the phone…I’m pretty sure only one of the men was with her each time the phone rang. I’m also pretty sure cell phones weren’t readily available and the houses are too far apart for the other man to run over and call. The caller has to be a fifth party, police or phone company or both.
-Did they go to bed when Laura “dies”?? Geraldine only had 4 hours to live with the phone ringing to update the countdown. How does it make any sense for them to go to separate rooms? Of all the faults this irks me the most. “I have less than 3 hours to live, I think I’ll go have a nap….”
-The doctor’s car wouldn’t start, her’s was missing.
-The bridge was always out, Laura and her husband Harvey were on the island when the bridge went out…and since it went out on the island side (I think) they were probably the ones to take it out.
-Bad breath can come from your stomach.
All that said, this episode is getting downloaded and going into my repeat list.it, and the conversation about it, were hilarious! Thank you for a new episode for our nightly ritual.
