Birch!!! I do have some unfortunate regionalisms (“inter-pet” among them), sloppy enunciation in general, and a terrible habit of dropping the “be” on because. All of these issues are heightened when I speak extemporaneously so my apologies to listeners. That being said, writing and speaking are two different functions, supported by two different parts of the brain! C’mon, man! The fact that I write scripts and spell interpret correctly and even hear it pronounced correctly in my mind when I read the word has no real bearing on how I pronounce the word in conversation. Going forward though, I promise to pay much closer attention to my rhoticity!
