It started off OK, but when it took its turn into the supernatural, it did so in a way that was not interesting in the slightest, just completely by the numbers with no originality. (Well, I suppose one could claim that “Leave now! Also, I’ve trapped you here so you can’t leave!” was somewhat original, but I would just call it bad writing.) And it wasn’t bad enough that it could be interesting in its badness. It was just “meh”.
