Volume II, Number 37 – Content Warning: Language and Horror
Two bodies unto one came I, Gog and Magog, Gogmagog.
From cavern pool under Zawn Pyg came Gog. From deep Plymouth Sound came Magog. Into the villages of men came Gog and Magog.
Proud Gog was I, and frolicked cruel. Magog was I and selfish too. Gog and Magog we posed the question: How dost thou crawl?
Do we crawl into a corner to die or do we crawl into the sunlight to die? Such were the options presented to us by Gog and Magog.
Gog was I and loved to winkle out the men from their closets and cellars. Magog I, and I loved no better than to crouch and lick the men from the ground as they fled from Magog and Gog.
If an animal be sick and weak it will by preference conceal itself away—but through hunger and thirst may leave its self-enclosure in the extreme of its despondency. A mouse upon the kitchen floor which your poisons are destroying seeks not your attention or your pity but it is only the distress of their corpus that has propelled it into your sight. Such it was with us all variously in that time.
Weary was I of Gog, and weary was I of Magog. My cock I put then into Magog, my cock I put then into Gog. Fingers, guts, lights and brains delivered unto Magog, and delivered Magog unto Gog. Flesh delivered unto one another, two bodies unto one, Gogmagog.
From our hidden corners we watched this Gogmagogapotheosis.
Woe! A sickness fell on Gogmagog, a conflict of the heart in Gogmagog, a disalignment of desires within the breast of Gogmagog. O Gogmagog! Self-poisoned Gogmagog!
Then arrived from all corners of the earth: first Fingal, then Finn, then Orgoglio, and then came Ascapart, came Wade and Sir Lout, came Ghyston and Vhyston, came Cath y Byd, came Blunderbore and Thunderbore, came Cormoran and his wife, came Blatta Rex—came all of these and more, understanding as they did this new weaknessessing of Gogmagog.
And they tore us, Gogmagog, in two, and drowned our separate parts in the bay of Nanjizal, and here we lay… disincorporated at the bottom of the sea… not one nor two nor forever not now poor old…

And upon the completion of the victory we witnessed the giants’ cloud-topped eyes drop their gaze upon us and we heard that curious question posed to us by smiling Ascapart:
How dost thou crawl?
