This week, the Society is listening to the nightmarish sound of “The Screaming Skull” from the enigmatic series, Theatre 10:30. This adaptation of Francis Marion Crawford’s short story tells the tale of a husband and wife whose deaths leave behind a mysterious skull and a blood-chilling legend. Is that screaming sound just the wind? Can a dinner conversation go so badly that it leads to a lifetime of guilt? Are we really wanting people to watch Mystery Science Theater 3000 at the witching hour? Listen for yourself and find out! Then vote and let us know what you think:

Does “The Screaming Skull” stand the test of time?

Hi Gents, Just finished this episode and I think this might be your best work yet. Wonderful story (though ‘The Ravine’ from Bradbury 13 is still scarier IMHO). This was a great episode. I had never heard of this series and I was apprehensive about checking it out because of the MST3K connection (great episode – bad movie). Glad I finally got around to it. My girlfriend and I will definitely be checking out more of this series.

MST3K FTW! I have loved this story for years, I’m glad you guys did it 🙂

As to 3 AM there is a big possibility that people needed to explain why many humans wake up at about that time most nights a week. Certainly it’s succubi waking up our men, right?

Lamont Cranston

Great episode. Agree that this is one of the best I’ve heard. Polar opposite from Trespassers will be Experimented On by Theatre 10:30.

Some of the musical cues were driving me nuts for the longest time and I just got it – The Black Museum.
