This month includes Orson Welles’ birthday and we celebrate with this episode of The Lives of Harry Lime! The series chronicles the adventures of the notorious rogue before his famous appearance in the classic film, The Third Man. In this story, entitled “Ticket to Tangier,” Lime answers an enigmatic message inviting him to Tangier. This exotic locale provides the perfect backdrop for a tale of whirlwind romance and cunning deceits! Can Lime turn this mysterious situation to his advantage? This is the result of two things. 1) a quick cash grab 2) Orson Welles ego didn’t want Harry Lime to be such a monster. He wants to be a hero, but this story is so hard to listen to and care about. If Harry isn’t forcing his attention on a woman, he is clearly hurt that a woman out smarted him. Child murderer just can’t get the moral high ground.
