I thought this was great! I am only familiar with the later, color TV series; and mostly only for the stolen baby Jesus episode, which is a holiday favorite for my wife and me. This radio broadcast was a revelation. Maybe the episode is a bit of an outlier, but even as someone who generally takes a dim view of copaganda, I was enthralled by that chase scene!
