This was great! I’ve liked Le Fanu’s Carmilla since I first read it when I was around 12 or so, but I wasn’t sure how well it would translate to radio — and it translated a lot better than I expected. This adaptation probably works better as an audio drama than a more faithful one would have. (But I was shocked to hear that not one of you has read Le Fanu’s original. You guys might want to check out two of Fletcher’s other WORKSHOP scripts, “Someone Else” and “Remodeled Brownstone,” both of which are similar to her later work for the SUSPENSE series.
