Happy Halloween from the MORLS! We are celebrating the holiday by listening to the CBS Radio Mystery Theater version of “Dracula,” featuring Mercedes McCambridge! A sudden sickness has befallen Lucy Westenra, suspiciously just as Count Dracula arrives! Can her friend, Mina, save her from a horrific fate? Will Mina herself fall victim to this grisly (yet sensuous) condition? Do you find CBSRMT and it’s commercials to be totally drinkable or has it broken your taster? Listen for yourself and find out! Then vote and let us know what you think!

I have to admit that I am a sucker for CBSRMT and have been since I first heard it when I was a kid in the 70s. Dracula is one of my favorite horror stories but this version falls short for me. It’s good enough but it does not compare well to the Mercury Theater version.

As far as the commercials go, I love them. When I am looking for an episode of CBSRMT to listen to at night I always pick episodes with commercials and news if possible.

Mercury theater still the best version. This one was just not good (script, casting, foley). 1 out of 4.

Would love to see MORLS do a Dracula sitcom, that has alot of potential!
